Here's our 2023 Hagstravaganza Beer Crawl:

Thomas Connolly: Here since 1780, this bar came about during a time of plentiful maritime trade; deliveries of rope, linen and tea came to Sligo from Europe. A grocer’s shop once stood at one end of the pub, popular for making sugar, selling tea & bottling whiskey. Today it’s best known for a warm welcome, famous pint of stout, live music & relaxing atmosphere.

The Swagman: With 15 draught lines + 110 unique bottles and cans, “The Swag” knows what they’re at with Craft Beers. A forerunner in craft scene in Sligo for local beer and a dabble in Irish whiskeys. With live music weekly & Sligo’s biggest beer garden, it’s a must-visit. Expect 15+ lines of TWH!

The Glasshouse: The architectural centrepiece of Sligo town has become a 2nd home for visitors to TWH across the year, as it’s central location and great food make it an ideal base to explore the county. They’ll have a DJ Friday night for those in early & the cocktail bar will be hopping post- festival.

Fureys: A legendary bar on Bridge st now under the Stewardship of Stevie Gilgunn whom the keen eyed amongst you will know as one of the team behind the bar in Grogans. They’ll be pouring a few of our beers including a rotation tap & will likely have brilliant local live music. A real gem.

Lillies: Set in a warm and friendly 70/80s setting, it tends to attract a trendy crowd. Boasting award winning cocktails, premium gin serves and great craft beer, they have a whopper selection. Expect fresh little fawn & hopstrav on tap. Go for cocktails and live music!

Hargadon Bros: Good Pubs & fine Whiskey are what mature over the years. Est 1868, Hargadon Bros is a distillation of panelled snugs, stone floors & bottled alcoves. Flawlessly preserved in a honeyed afternoon light, this is a local constant with a reputation for good conversation, great locally-sourced food/drinks, & the perfect pint.

Donaghys: A legendary restaurant and bar, known far & wide for the excellent and continuous high standard of food, under the guidance of the brilliant Andy Donaghy. The bar downstairs is the quintessential Irish bar - great bar food, a selection of good beers & Little Fawn!
