Neria Leiter, an IDF reservist and son of Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, was seriously wounded today in a car-ramming terror attack on Route 443.

His family is asking people around the world to pray for his recovery.

. Israeli Developers Are Renting Unsold New Apartments Rather Than Cutting Prices

A notable shift is emerging in Israel’s housing market: some developers are choosing to rent out newly completed apartments they cannot sell rather than reduce their asking prices.

Globes reports that the combination of sluggish home sales, growing inventories of unsold apartments and a strong rental market is pushing developers toward a new strategy, generating rental income while waiting for the sales market to recover.

At one new project in Modi’in, about 20 unsold apartments are being rented for two years before being returned to the sales market. At Panorama North in Bat Yam, the developer has chosen to rent 78 of the building’s 113 apartments on ten-year leases.

The strategy allows developers to avoid headline price reductions that could affect valuations and upset earlier buyers who paid higher prices. It also provides cash flow while developers wait for better selling conditions.

For renters, however, the trend could create an unusual opportunity: brand-new apartments, professional maintenance and clearer long-term rental conditions directly from development companies rather than individual landlords.

The development is another indication that Israel’s current housing slowdown is beginning to change how developers manage completed inventory, not merely how they price it.

Gal Gadot Turns Her $1 Million Genesis Prize Into $3 Million for Israel’s Mental-Health Recovery

Israeli actress Gal Gadot is turning her 2026 Genesis Prize into a much larger effort to help Israelis recover from years of trauma.

Gadot dedicated the $1 million prize to Israel’s mental-health recovery. Together with the Genesis Prize Foundation and the Jewish Funders Network, an additional $2 million was raised, bringing the initiative to $3 million.

According to Ynet, the funding will support organizations working with trauma survivors, children and teenagers, families, caregivers and mental-health professionals across Israel. Among the recipients are Make-A-Wish Israel, United Hatzalah and CareGivers Israel.

The initiative is particularly focused on the people who have spent the past three years caring for others, doctors, nurses, medics, therapists, social workers and caregivers who themselves have been working under extraordinary emotional pressure.

Gadot said that strengthening those who care for others can help heal families and communities and reconnect them.
