As hosts, we faced a super challenging year in which we had to re-invent ourselves. In March 2020 on a bright day we suddenly got a rain of cancellations for bookings that were reserved way in advance. The uncertainty was felt everywhere but everyone thought that by the summer of that year the 'flu' will disappear and travel will get back on track.
Opening the new year, we look back on the STR industry and the adaption we have made together with our "new" local guests that were searching desperately for a decent vacation option and escapism during the holidays, as well as individuals and families relocating for several weeks/months and people who took advantage of the situation to try and live in a different place for a while.
We grew stronger from a very tough strike and today we can surely say that we are back on track with high occupancy in our listings and content guests.
We know now how we shouldn't take things for granted, and are ready to provide an even better experience for our beloved customers.
For a year of discovering new places, cultures and hosting many new faces that are keen to see the pearls of our country.
Even with the hope that a vaccine will reduce the infection rate of Covid-19, many short-term rental operators expect the pandemic to continue for at least a year, possibly several.
