Ahmedabad, the eastern capital of Gujarat, is a symbol of the prosperity of its residents. The right hand of the goddess Bhadrakali Mataji, a symbol of success, achievement and prosperity, is the paw of the right hand of the goddess, which still blesses the townspeople. Especially devotees, every businessman starts his day and business by visiting the Bhadrakali temple outside the Bhadra Fort of Ahmedabad and at the same time, touching the right hand of the goddess and receiving the blessings of the mother. Even today, many devotees and businessmen start their work by visiting the temple daily.

The paw of the goddess Bhadrakali, carved in stone near the gate of the Bhadrakali temple outside the Bhadra Fort of Ahmedabad, is associated with the story of the city's protector goddess and a symbol of prosperity; According to legend, once when Mataji was leaving the city, Siddiq Kotwal stopped her and Mataji carved her paw in a stone to keep the prosperity in the city, which is a symbol of the city's protection and prosperity.
History of the legend:
Mataji's Leaving the City: Many years ago, the goddess of wealth Lakshmi (who is worshipped as Bhadrakali) left the city at night through the gate of Bhadra Fort.
Siddiq Kotwal's Sacrifice: Siddiq Kotwal, the watchman posted at the gate, recognized her and requested her not to leave the city without the king's permission. To stop Mataji from leaving the city, Siddiq Kotwal cut off his own head, due to which the prosperity of the city was maintained.
Symbol of the Paw: As a symbol of this incident, Mata Bhadrakali's paw is still seen carved in a stone near the gate of Bhadra Fort, which is a symbol of the city's protection and prosperity.
Siddiq Kotwal's Tomb: There is also a tomb dedicated to Siddiq Kotwal near Bhadra Darwaza.
Thus, this stone of the paw is an important relic of the heroic story of Bhadrakali, the goddess of the city of Ahmedabad, and Siddiq Kotwal, the protector of the city.
