Amritsar’s economy thrives on tourism, yet our visitors often face harassment and exploitation, especially from auto-rickshaw operators who overcharge them or lead them to places which offer them hefty commissions and the tourist has to pay far extra than normal prices for articles like Juttis, Phulkaris, Papad Warrian etc It's unacceptable that there are no dedicated tourism police booths to address these issues! We need kiosks at prominent tourist spots like Hall Bazar, Railway Station, Near Golden Temple and Durgiana Mandir where complaints can be addressed immediately. It's time to prioritize tourist safety and our city's image. Attached images of Tourism Police kiosks at Kurshetra and Kolkata. VOA will like to collaborate with for setting up such facilities.
