ADDRESSING THE LIFESTYLE PARADOX
If you give it some thought, we are all facing a lifestyle paradox. We enjoy the luxuries of city life, but we also complain about it and yearn for the atmosphere of a village. We enjoy the convenience of owning multiple vehicles, but pray that our children will be safe while playing on the streets. We want privacy and independence, yet we find comfort in numbers.
We want large, landscaped, open spaces with fresh air, as well as large interior spaces that are air-conditioned. If you look at these apparent contradictions, it’s quite clear that a healthy combination of these two lifestyles is the only means of achieving any form of equilibrium. The pedestrianised community living of good old village life, with its blurred boundaries, secure environments and lush doses of nature.
