Dear Residents At Floriana,
Govt. of Karnataka has announced lockdown from 27/4/2021 9PM to 12/5/2021 6AM to limit the exponential rise of Covid infections. Therefore, we are bound to follow the efforts of the authorities to contain the growth of infections.
You are requested note the following;
1. Not to go out unless it is REALLY ESSENTIAL.
2. Not to permit visitors or service providers at your home who are non-essential.
3. Only domestic helps who provide "essential" services are permitted. Residents who call such essential helps must approve their entry in Mygate on their arrival at gate. (No automatic or pre-approved entries).
4. The entries to your homes are at your own risk, the situation will be monitored during the lockdown and corrective action if any will be taken at the appropriate time.
It is imperative to mention that, to get a bed at the hospital in the event of severe infections is almost impossible, situation is life-threatening and health services are crumbling.
As the situation demand caution and certain responsible behaviors;
1. Isolate yourself in the event of any stage 1 symptoms like fever, body pain, headache, cough, running nose, throat pain, tiredness, burning sensation of eye etc and intimate the MC or supervisor.
2. In the event of any one of the symptoms above, Consult a doctor as there are plenty of online consultations available and continue the medication while being in isolation till the RTPCR test result is out.
3. Test yourself for Covid, as per the recommendation of doctor either by home collection of sample or walking to any fever clinic of BBMP. It should be done in Day 1 or Day 2 and not to delay any further.
4. If the sample is given for testing on Day1, the result is expected to come on Day 3( there can be a delay as the labs are overwhelmed) and follow up with doctor on further medication if found POSITIVE.
5. Once the result is POSITIVE, it is updated in ICMR site and BU number issued most likely on Day 5. This BU number is essential for hospitalization if there is a need arises. Therefore, testing on Day 1 very important in the event of a worsening situation by Day 5.
6. There are cases when the report is NEGATIVE and continue to have symptoms, in such scenario, the repeat of RTPCR test is recommended. Doctors may recommend CT Scan at this stage if there is no improvement and admission to Covid Beds may be permitted based on CT Report.
7. There are many vaccinated people also infected, though the infections are mild, can cause transmission to others.
8. The Isolated patients/home quarantined residents are supported by a group of volunteers of Floriana for their needs, psychological support, special instructions are given to security, house keeping and supervisor on various aspects of Isolation.
The economic cost of hospitalization, trauma and treatment are beyond our imagination. Therefore, in view of alarming rise of infections, distressing conditions at the hospitals you are requested to remain at home and have minimum interactions with outsiders for the sake of your family, community, society and country.
