I grew up in Nagpur in a liberal family. When I decided to study robotics at IIT Madras, they were supportive despite the distance. I was always interested in technology. I have also represented India at several international competitions. I quit my high-paying corporate job to explore the field of agriculture. After a lot of research, I found that technology wasn't exactly being implemented in agriculture. This was surprising since we're all addicted to technology, but it hasn't been implemented in our country's most important sector. My interest in robotics served me well; I was finally able to create something that's accessible to the people. I travelled across countries to explore their agricultural means. After working alongside the farmers to understand the sector better, I finally started Bharath Agri at the age of 24. Here, we provide personalised consultancy for farmers to manage farming as per international standards. Soon, I was featured in the Forbes '30 under 30' list.
As a woman entrepreneur, I've obviously faced discrimination. It took some effort to convince these men-led corporations to take me seriously, which is why I've ensured that Bharath Agri is a discrimination-free space. As a woman, I expect to be credited for my work like anybody else would. I deserve credits for the efforts I've put in without any dismissal. As women, we have to change the workspace with our hard work and dedication. That has brought me all this way.
