Executing the vision of the Prabhakar family and welcoming them home this summer to their dream was our commitment. So, from selecting every vendor, to procuring everything from tile to artifact, we gave this home our head, heart and body. The world outside spun to its own tune, and we stayed true to our craft. At Svasa Homes we design cohesive narratives in every home, a reflection of our shared spaces. The highlight of the month gone by was the opening of these doors to our clients who walked in to a home ready with everything.

Devoid of the luxury of being able to walk into a store, experience products, and touch and feel everything from antiques to textiles owed to the pandemic, we explored the route of trust in people and brands we’ve had historically good relationships with. and other of our trusted partners worked closely with us to weave the tapestry of this home together. Our interior architect and collaborator on the project, of Spellbound, was our choice for the Prabhakar family. Balancing the nostalgia of a Chettinad home and a truly modern, almost Californian home is a subtle balance that few architects truly understand. Honing the relationship between architect and client, creating a safe space to ideate, debate, and make the right choices, and then to commit to a clear vision formed the early days of this journey on our end.

At Svasa Homes, we don’t believe in selling real estate, instead in creating special homes for the families that choose to live with us. It’s imperative to us to delight our residents through their lifetimes here. At the onset of this turnkey interior project, we were faced with the unique challenge of having to design a home in the middle of a pandemic, across geographies and timezones. We wanted to make sure that the journey of coming home for the Prabhakar felt instead like a worry free creative endeavor.

It’s been a privilege making one of a kind homes come to life for our clients. Shobha and Prabhakar Sundarajan, based full time in California with their roots in South Bangalore chose Svasa to be their home. Their vacation home at Svasa Homes is a turnkey project managed by our team. Nostalgia for South India, a truly Global taste, and an evolved aesthetic unique to this unique family were our commitment. Our endeavor was to have a ready to move in vacation home for the Prabhakar family, managed seamlessly to meet their taste.
