In Coimbatore, it's a decision.

Some questions don't need calendars.

"Should we go to Ooty?"

At 6 AM, over the first cup of coffee, the answer is already taking shape.

"Yes. Leave by 7."

That's one of the quiet luxuries of living in Coimbatore. The Western Ghats aren't reserved for long weekends or annual holidays; they're close enough to become part of an ordinary Saturday.

There's a term urban planners love right now: the 15-minute city. The idea that if you could reach everything that matters- work, groceries, a hospital, a decent cup of coffee— within a 15-minute walk or drive, you'd get back something cities usually take from you. Time. Headspace. A life that isn't spent in transit.

Paris is spending billions trying to become one. Melbourne rebuilt entire transit maps around the concept.

Coimbatore just... is one. Nobody voted on it. No consultant drew this up on a whiteboard. The city grew the way small cities often do — around its own centre of gravity — and it happened to land somewhere close to perfect.

We didn't design that. We just noticed it, and built here.

From The Retreat in Udayampalayam, the numbers read almost suspiciously convenient:

→ Main shopping corridors: 5-10 minutes
