Advocates' day is celebrated in India by the Advocate community on the 3rd of December to mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna - Dr. Rajendra Prasad,
- The First President of India and a very eminent Advocate himself.
-Sir was placed first in the University of Calcutta’s entrance exam and was awarded an Rs. 30 per month scholarship.
-Sir passed the F. A. at the University of Calcutta in March 1904, and Sir graduated with a first division in March 1905. Later, Sir opted to focus on the study of arts, and in December 1907, Sir got a first division M.A. in Economics from the University of Calcutta
-In 1915, Sir took and passed the Masters of Law examination at the University of Calcutta’s Department of Law, earning a Gold Medal
-In 1916, Sir joined the High Court of Bihar and Odisha.
-In 1917, Sir was appointed as one of the first members of the Senate of the Patna University.
-Sir also practised law at Bhagalpur, the famous silk town in Bihar
-Sir received his Ph.D. in Law from Allahabad University in 1937
-Sir worked in a variety of educational as a teacher. After earning his M.A. in economics, Sir became an English professor and eventually the principal of Langat Singh College in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Sir then withdrew from college to pursue a legal education at Calcutta’s Ripon College.
-In July 1946, when the Constituent Assembly was established to frame the Constitution of India, Sir was elected as President of Constituent Assembly
-Sir served as the first President of India, holding the office from January 26, 1950, until May 13, 1962 (12 years)
-In 1962, Sir received the “Bharat Ratna,” India’s highest civilian honor.
