IN CASE OF AN EARTHQUAKE:-

1. Please anchor heavy objects like cupboards to wall and floor. Otherwise they might fall on you.
2. Don't take shelter near window opening out side.
3. Don't stand near balcony railings specially if you are in multistorey building.
4. Keep torch, battery operated radio, first-aid box and regularly used medicine handy
5. Make a small bag of important documents and keep it at a place where it can be reached easily.
6 hide under big table, centrally located wall and corners.
7. Take shelter under door opening as door openings have beam over it.
8. Always cover your head with hands to ward off head injuries.

Afterwards
1. Check for injuries.
2. Avoid broken glass
3. Don't light matches and lighter. In case gas pipeline are damaged there could be fire.
4. Use Torchlight to avoid broken glass and electrical cables.
5. In case water line and gas lines are damaged inform authority.
6. Keep biscuits and little water handy.
