What does the birth of Thakur Ji really mean?

On Janmashtami, we celebrate the appearance of Shri Krishna.

But perhaps His birth is also an invitation to understand His creation.

We spend so much time trying to understand existence intellectually.

Why are human beings here?
Why are there millions of different forms of life?
What is beyond the stars?
Who created this universe?
Where is Brahma?
Where is God?
Is Krishna somewhere far away from us?

And then Thakur Ji comes and says:

"I am here."

Look at the Gopas.

Look at the Brajwasis.

Look at the cows.

Look at the forests.

Look at friendship.

Look at the love between a mother and her child.

Look at people sharing food, laughter, music and life.

That is life.
That is pure life.

Krishna does not come as a distant concept.

He comes and lives amongst His people.

He plays with the Gopas.

What earlier ages may have demanded through great austerities, penance and years of spiritual discipline can, in this age, be approached through something beautifully simple:

Naam J*p.

Taking the name of Bhagwan.
Remembering Him.
