We recently hosted. (Dr.) Ramanathan , CEO - WIN CoE for Medtech and Healthtech, Institute of Technology, Madras at our office.
Driven by the convergence of AI and Biosciences, Dr. Ravi has been working at the intersection of computing and biology - spanning modeling & simulations, synthetic biology, and genomics - translating cutting-edge TRL4+ healthtech and medtech innovations into real-world applications.

Our conversation revolved around the evolving role of deep-tech startups, the importance of academic ecosystems in venture creation, and how stronger bridges between research, industry, and capital can shape the next wave of innovation.

The discussions also highlighted how the future of healthcare will increasingly be driven by platform technologies at the intersection of AI, biology, and computational sciences - where breakthroughs in diagnostics, precision medicine, drug discovery, and bio-manufacturing will require not just scientific excellence, but patient capital, translational research, and ecosystem-led commercialization.

A significant development in India’s defence-tech ecosystem.
Our portfolio company has unveiled STARK — a lightweight long-range
Anti-Tank & Armour Killer Drone built for precision top-attack missions against armoured
targets.
The system was recently showcased as part of the company’s expanding indigenous tactical
drone portfolio and reflects the growing shift toward portable, high-endurance anti-armour
unmanned systems within modern battlefield doctrine.
Designed for modern combat environments, the platform reportedly offers a 100 km
operational range, helicopter-assisted deployment capability, efficient glide-based endurance
and rapid deployment by a two-person infantry team.
The launch marks another strong step in the evolution of indigenous defence and tactical
drone technologies emerging from India’s startup ecosystem.

We are delighted to welcome Alok Shukla a as a Mentor at India Accelerator, strengthening our Frontier & Strategic Technologies thesis.

A quantum computing researcher working at the intersection of theory and real-world deployment, Dr. Shukla focuses on scalable quantum algorithms and hybrid classical–quantum systems. His work spans across quantum phase estimation, search, state preparation, nonlinear differential equations and quantum image & signal processing. He is known for the Shukla–Vedula algorithm and the UniformSuperpositionGate, implemented in Cirq and Qiskit.

Dr. Shukla holds a PhD from University of Oklahoma and has held research roles at University of Manitoba and Brown University, alongside industry experience at IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. He currently serves as Faculty and PhD Programme Chair at Ahmedabad University and actively advises deep-tech startups in quantum technologies.

Sharad brings a rare combination of storytelling instinct and business acumen. Over the years, he has consistently built at the intersection of creativity and scale, from Producing National Award Winning Superhit Cinema like “The Tashkent Files” to delivering cultural blockbuster that defined Gujarati Film Industry like “Chhello Divas”, and most recently, R Madhavan Lead Hindi Film “Hisaab Barabar”, which saw massive early traction on OTT.

Beyond the screen, he represents creative capital in deliberate action — identifying compelling narratives, building ventures around them, and scaling their impact across industries, bridging content, commerce and culture.

In his role as Mentor, Sharad will play a pivotal part in shaping our Media & Entertainment portfolio, working closely with founders to refine storytelling, unlock IP value, and build scalable, future-ready businesses — navigating both narrative and numbers with equal conviction. His insights will be instrumental as we deepen our focus on content, intellectual property, and immersive media-led startups.
