Sector 109 to114 of Dwarka Expressway to get the benefit as Bijwasan set to be Delhi's largest transportation hub-

Indian Railways and other civic agencies have prepared a plan to provide seamless connectivity between the railway station, upcoming metro corridor, IGI Airport and highways including Dwarka Expressway. It would also cater to Delhi's second diplomatic enclave coming up in Dwarka.

The upcoming world-class railway station at Bijwasan in southwest Delhi will create the city's biggest transportation hub integrating all modes of transport.

CATER TO 2ND DIPLOMATIC ENCLAVE
Indian Railways and other civic agencies have prepared a plan to provide seamless connectivity between the railway station, upcoming metro corridor, IGI Airport and highways including Dwarka Expressway. It would also cater to Delhi's second diplomatic enclave coming up in Dwarka.
DEVELOPED BY IRSDC
Tenders are likely to be floated by next month. The Bijwasan railway station is being developed by the Indian Railway Station Development Corporation (IRSDC). Once developed, it would primarily cater to catchment areas like Dwarka, Gurgaon, Delhi Cantonment and some parts of south Delhi.
The surroundings of the station are also marked by residential and mixed land use, which is largely part of rural Gurgaon. Smaller developers are building mixed use dwellings and small shops towards rural Gurgaon.
Bijwasan also has a large number of high-end farmlands and neighbouring village lands such as Rajokri, which have been converted into residential farm lands. FAR around mass rapid transit systems has been increased to 400 from 250, a 60 per cent increase by the urban development ministry.

OPPORTUNITY FOR TRANSIT INTERCHANGE
"The proposed world-class station at Bijwasan will attract major traffic due to development of multiple facilities like ISBT, convention centre, commercial development and extension of metro line to Gurgaon. There is tremendous real estate potential in Dwarka and northern part of rural Gurgaon adjacent to Dwarka," said a railway official.
The station will provide opportunity for transit interchange and facilitate commuters.

FACILITIES TO IMPROVE STANDARD OF LIVING
At present, 89 trains pass through Bijwasan station on a daily basis, of which 21 trains halt here. As per the plan, the station will have the capacity to accommodate 44 pairs of trains and 1.38 lakh passengers.
Other than saving commuting time and cost, commercial development along the station will lead to facilities like hotels, office spaces, commercial complexes, etc. It will have huge economic benefits in terms of employment, reduce pollution and improve the overall living standard in the area, a report of the Railways said.

unveils new road to de-congest -8

In a renewed initiative to kick-start stalled road infrastructure projects in , the Urban Development Authority has announced that it will soon acquire 102 acres required land parcel for building the Central Peripheral Road (CPR), connecting two important highways. The 3.2 kilometre long road will help connect the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) and NH-8 to the . The will start 200-metres before Kherki-Daula toll plaza on the -Gurgaon Expressway (NH-8) and will join the Dwarka Expressway near Harsaru village. This connecting road will be a vital link between Dwarka Expressway and , as a cloverleaf flyover will be built on the NH-8 to facilitate easy movement of vehicles from east to west and vice-versa. The connectivity between the two major roads will help in decongesting the NH-8, which witnesses daily jams and has several bottlenecks between Gurgaon and Delhi. A large number of vehicles going to Sohna road and Golf Course Road from Dwarka and west Delhi could use this connection. Traffic from south Delhi, Golf Course Road, and could easily enter the city, go to or move towards new sectors in Gurgaon and also in Dwarka, thereby reducing pressure on the highway, said NHAI sources.

Just 6 months from now and would be a real deal.
With thousands of apartment buyers eagerly awaiting the completion of the Dwarka expressway that may give a boost to the real estate along the e-way, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Friday began the ground work for completing the project on Delhi side.

A team of NHAI and private consultants AECOM on Friday conducted an inspection of the proposed 9.9 km of the Delhi side of the expressway, which will connect both Shivmurti and Kherki Daula on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway.

On the Delhi side, the Dwarka expressway would be 9.9 km long from Shiv Murti to Haryana border near Bijwasan and from this point to Kherki Daula the rest of the road 18-km long.

Ashok Sharma, project director of the NHAI, said that for the 5.5 km section of the road, the land is with the PWD department of the Delhi government and it only needs to be transferred to the highway authority. “We need to acquire only 15-acres of land for the rest 4.4 km stretch from Shiv Murti to Bharthal village adjacent to Dwarka,” said Sharma.

A team of NHAI officials and private consultants conducted an inspection on the Delhi side and went from Shivmurti to Kapashera road along the airport to Dwarka and from there took a left to Bharthal and Bamnoli villages and finally crossed Bijwasan to enter Gurgaon where they visited sectors along the expressway close to the border.

“We are planning a six-lane stretch in Delhi similar to what has been built in Gurgaon as we have 80 metres of width available for a considerable distance,” said Sharma. As far as stretches that have been stuck on Gurgaon side at New Palam Vihar and Kherki Daula is concerned, Huda has been asked to expedite the rehabilitation of oustees on priority.

To expedite the acquisition of land, the NHAI has written to the Delhi to set a competent authority for land acquisition that will initiate the legal process for acquiring the land for the project.

Once the estimate for the land is made, the highways authority will issue a notification under Section 3(a) of the National Highway Act 1956 to verify the exact requirement of plots and their revenue numbers. Another notification under Section 3(A) would be made by the authority. Twenty one days after this is done, a final notification under Section 3(D) of the Act would be issued that will finally vest the land with the .

“If all stakeholders, including the Delhi government, cooperate then the process should not take more than six months. In this time we will also prepare a detailed estimate and design of the expressway so work can start at the earliest,” said Sharma.
