Rib Spacing is the distance between the centers of two consecutive ribs. It is a parallel distance measured from the axis of a steel bar. Close rib spacing is ideal for proper reinforcement of a concrete structure. Rib Height is the distance between the highest point and the core surface of a rib. A considerable rib depth is essential to ensure an ideal depth-to-thickness ratio. Ideally, rib height should not be more than 3 times the concrete thickness. Rib Inclination is the angle between the transverse axis and vertical axis of a bar. In the best TMT bars, the rib inclination angle ranges between 40-105°. This ensures there is no displacement between steel and concrete.
