This land is ours, but borrowed from our children.
This year, the theme of is - Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience. According to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, up to 40 per cent of the planet's land is degraded, directly affecting half of the world's population.
Let's read that again: 40% of the planet's land is degraded.
What does that mean for us? It means our future is at stake, and if we need to deploy initiatives for us and our succeeding generations.
We at Stonecraft Group turned to our roots for an answer. What's more sustainable than enabling nature the right way? Our project, Woods Shamshabad is the largest Miyawaki forest in the world, with a 7 times growth rate to traditional afforestation methods. We breathed life into a barren land by planting over 4,50,000 native trees in a custom soil mix. This dense manmade forest protects against natural calamities such as floods and fires, all while providing a natural ecosystem for thousands of beings, massive to miniscule.
