The Supreme Court has clarified that stray dogs should be removed from streets and shifted to shelters. This decision is not meant to harm them, but to protect both animals and people.
If you truly care for the dogs you feed daily—Tommy, Moti, Jackie—step forward. Adoption is simple: clean them, vaccinate them, and give them safety. Once cared for, they are no longer “strays” but family.
The Court’s directive is about providing safe spaces, not cruelty. If dogs are mishandled or starved in shelters, record it and hold authorities accountable. Misuse of funds meant for their food is no different from any other scam and must be punished.
We must also admit: humans have taken away most of their natural space. Just as displaced families are relocated when land is cleared, animals too deserve secure relocation, not abandonment.
True animal lovers do not let them label dogs as “stray.” They are not wild beasts for forests—they need safe compounds, communities, or homes. This protects those who fear them, while allowing others to care freely.
Judges are aware of the ethical weight of such decisions. The intent is not punishment, but protection—saving dogs from being run over, beaten, or left to starve.
The tragic death of children due to dog attacks is a serious concern. Thus, separating dogs from vulnerable groups like kids is a necessary precaution.
The verdict should not be misused, but understood. It is a call for responsibility and compassion. Adopt where you can, monitor shelters, and ensure dignity for every life
