| Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has approved an OC Amnesty Scheme for buildings occupied before November 17, 2016. The scheme allows eligible residential buildings, hospitals and schools with approved plans to obtain Occupation Certificates, with benefits for homes of up to 80 sq m (860 sq ft).

| Maharashtra has reduced stamp duty for registering 99-year lease agreements of Mumbai cooperative housing societies on government-leased land. Residential properties will now attract a maximum duty of 0.5%, while commercial properties will be charged 1.5%. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said the move will provide major relief to societies facing high registration costs. The concessional rates will apply across Mumbai city and suburbs, benefiting societies in Nariman Point, Cuffe Parade, Colaba, Marine Drive and other areas.
