Some evenings at Poothali move slowly, almost gently.

Dinner here does not arrive with formality. It comes from the traditional kitchen to the shared table the way it always has in this part of North Kerala. Warm kappa (tapioca) broken apart by hand, fish curry simmered with coconut and chilli in earthen pots, and black coffee poured fresh while stories stretch late into the night.

Simple food. Familiar flavours. Yet for many guests, this quiet meal becomes one of the memories they carry back home from Poothali.
