Ratan Tata, former chairman of Tata Sons and visionary leader, passed away at 86. His profound impact on Indian business and philanthropy will be remembered. Tata was honored with the Padma Bhushan in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008, two of India's highest civilian awards. The Tata Group comprises nearly 100 companies, including the nation’s largest automaker, largest private steel producer, and a leading outsourcing firm, employing over 350,000 people globally. In June 2008, Tata acquired Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford. He also pioneered commercial aviation in India by launching an airline in 1932 that later evolved into Air India, which was later nationalized. In 2021, Tata Group reacquired state-owned Air India and launched Vistara in partnership with Singapore Airlines, which has since merged with Air India. Tata's portfolio includes Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Power, and Tata Consultancy Services, among others.
We Mani Group honours and salutes this true nationalist, Ratan Tata, whose vision and contributions have left an indelible mark on India.
