Power supply to all illegal commercial buildings in Udhagamandalam to be cut

Field inspections by the authorities have revealed that several buildings, which had obtained licence as dwelling houses, were found used for commercial purposes.

The district administration has directed the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) to disconnect power supply to buildings which were illegally used for commercial purpose in the district.

Field inspections by the authorities have revealed that several buildings, which had obtained licence as dwelling houses, were found used for commercial purposes. The identified properties have been notified by the civic body officials and the details of the same have been sent to the TNEB too, a press release said.

NCDRC directs Unitech to refund over Rs 53 lakh to two home buyers

The Agarwals had booked a residential apartment with Unitech Reliable Projects Limited in a project namely 'Capella' in Uniworld City, which was to be developed in Greater Noida

The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has asked real estate giant Unitech to refund over Rs 53 lakh to two home buyers for failing to hand over the possession of an apartment.

The apex consumer commission asked the company to refund within three months Rs 53,73,561 and give a compensation of simple interest at 10 per cent per annum to Gurgaon residents Abhishek and Mani Agarwal for a delay of over seven years in handing over the possession of the apartment.

Civic body officials are in the process to shortlist the most dangerous buildings and have issued notices to the occupants.

Ahead of monsoon, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has identified 115 buildings in the city that are unsafe for living.

Civic body officials are in the process to shortlist the most dangerous buildings and have issued notices to the occupants.

Most of the buildings have been identified in Zone-1, 2, 3, 12 and 13. “About 10-25 buildings have been identified in each of these five zones,” said an official with IMC’s building permission cell.

The apex consumer commission directed real estate major Supertech to refund the entire amount of over Rs 1 crore to a buyer for delay of two years in delivering the house

The apex consumer commission has held that a homebuyer cannot be forced to forfeit any amount deposited with a builder in case he seeks cancellation of allotment of flat for delay in construction and directed real estate major Supertechto refund the entire amount of over Rs 1 crore to a buyer for delay of two years in delivering the house.

In order to discourage homebuyers from cancelling allotment, builders always put stringent clauses in the agreement on forfeiture of a substantial amount deposited by buyers. But the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) held that real estate companies cannot invoke such harsh clauses in cases where the buyers are forced to seek cancellation due to inordinate delay in completion of any project.

Prime office realty rentals on the rise

The growth has made New Delhi’s Connaught Place the fourth-most expensive office market in the Asia-Pacific region, showed data from Knight Frank.

Demand for commercial real estate, led by sustained occupiers’ interest to expand businesses in India, is pushing prime office rentals in main cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru upwards.

During the first quarter, prime office rentals in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi rose 17%, 5% and 1.4%, respectively, from a year ago. The growth has made New Delhi’s Connaught Place the fourth-most expensive office market in the Asia-Pacific region, showed data from Knight Frank.
