Strengthening Synergy. Enabling Growth.

At the News18 Rising Bharat Summit – East Edition, themed “The New Growth Code: Transformation & Scale”, Sumant Ahlawat, CEO, Apeejay Shipping, shared his perspective on the evolving growth landscape of Eastern India and the role of stronger connectivity in unlocking the region’s potential.

“The synergy between the State and Central Government was missing earlier. When the synergy is there, things will become much better.", said Mr. Ahlawat.

He further spoke about the need for continued development of maritime infrastructure, greater integration of waterways and stronger regional connectivity to facilitate trade and commerce.

Sharing Apeejay Shipping’s expanding presence, Mr. Ahlawat also highlighted the company’s Kolkata–Andaman service, reflecting its continued focus on strengthening maritime linkages across the region.

The conversation reinforced the importance of collaboration, connectivity and infrastructure-led development in shaping the next chapter of growth for Eastern India.
