There were days when continuing NYAS Research felt impossible.

Projects had uncertainties, resources were limited, and the pressure often felt overwhelming. There were even times when personally took loans just to ensure the team's salaries were paid on time — because behind every project were people, families, and responsibilities.

What many see today as 5 years of NYAS Research has actually been built through sacrifices, sleepless nights, uncertainty, and belief.

Every step of this journey carries a story of resilience, responsibility, and purpose. NYAS Research was never just about research — it was about building something meaningful that could continue creating impact even during difficult times.

And the journey is still continuing. Every day, we are working hard to grow NYAS Research and also building Viyati Foundation with the same commitment toward meaningful change.

We are pleased to share that NYAS Research is supporting the implementation of a major research study on climate adaptation and risk assessment in Odisha, India.

As part of this initiative, NYAS is conducting field interviews and research activities across 210 villages in Jajpur and Kendrapada, engaging directly with farming communities.

This project reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality field research that contributes to evidence-based insights in agriculture, climate resilience, and rural development.

From Baseline to Midline — The Journey Continues 🚀

A year ago, NYAS Research began Phase 1 (Baseline) of our study to understand how smartphones and digital services are shaping women's empowerment in rural Uttar Pradesh.

We’re excited to share that Phase 2 (Midline) has been successfully completed!

This time, beyond interviews, we introduced interactive games and activities with respondents — making the process more engaging, insightful, and human-centered. These interactions helped us capture deeper behavioral insights and real experiences in a more natural way.

Grateful to all the women who participated and shared their stories with us. This journey is not just about data, but about real impact and meaningful change. 💛

This week, NYAS Research successfully completed a qualitative research study to identify behavioural and structural barriers impacting Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (EIBF) and Exclusive Breastfeeding (EBF) practices from both provider and beneficiary perspectives.

Geographical Coverage: 5 Districts of Uttar Pradesh
Sample Size: 250 qualitative interviews
~125 Medical Service Providers (Gynaecologist, Paediatrician, Staff nurses, ASHAs, ANMs)
~125 Beneficiaries (mothers, fathers, mothers-in-law)
