The site was on a serene hillock nestled in a clearing within 150 acres of dense coffee plantations. Our first impression was that of lush vertical trees with pepper vines growing on them and coffee plants beneath.
The living room towards north was expanded and opened up where there had previously been a bedroom. And we added a voluminous informal breakfast/dining space overlooking the estate where they had previously been staff quarters. An attic room was also added on the 2nd floor. The spatial layout of the ground floor consists largely of public areas. It includes an ample verandah at the entrance overlooking a cascading water feature and courtyards and verandas in the foyer to meet people visiting from the surrounding villages.
The landscape design played a crucial role in establishing a soft connection between the house and the existing forested landscape. It was designed to feel natural and unmanicured. Hardy and local species of planting were used, and the flow of rainwater through the site was preserved.

This House is located in the middle of a “hualles” and “ulmos” forest with the Colico Lake in the background. In order to achieve a minimal environmental intervention, the house sits on a base that allows wild flora to grow through it.
The project starts from a rectangle oriented to the northeast, that breaks and separates to protect the existing trees. As a result, two bars are proposed facing the only clearing in the forest, which serves both as a garden and as a source of solar radiation.
Taking into account the fluctuation of users, four areas are defined: family, parents, children and guests. All of them were distributed in two volumes that are connected to each other through glazed interior bridges that cross the forest. Constructively, the house is made up of a concrete base that absorbs the slope of the land, allowing the forest to pass through and at the same time isolating the floor from the humidity of the soil. On this plinth there are a series of prefabricated wooden panels and frames that configure the structure and geometry of the house. This prefabrication helped to reduce the time of construction despite the complexity involved in the ex*****on of the irregular frames that make up the main volume and the breaks in roofs designed to allow viewing the foliage of the trees from the inside and at the same time allowing the entry of natural light to all areas of the house.

A compact house that makes the best use of the plot”, this was the request of the client in the first conversation about the project of this house. The plot with an area of 400.62 m² had a curved front, which guided some aspects of the project. With this plot, the architects created two distinct rectangular blocks, occupying both ends of the lateral setbacks. A smaller block, positioned on the south face, where the permitted built-up area was reduced due to legislation, where the services sector is located and another one facing the north face, with larger proportions, housing the intimate wing, this decision ended up creating a central void between these two opposite blocks and in this emptiness, the garage was positioned in front of the plot, the social area in the center and the gourmet in the back, facing the west with a beautiful view of the green area.
A compact and elegant house that combines with modern life - practical and at the same time comfortable, that welcomes its residents with the warmth of wood on the walls and ceiling. The gourmet space fully integrated with the social area, also integrates with the landscape in the background. This environment was designed to provide the beautiful view of the horizon and also the contemplation of the sunset. The pool was laid out in the shape of a lane, to ensure year-round sunshine, a deck/solarium was created next to the pool. serves as a lookout, allowing the view of the landscape and serving as an extension of the gourmet.

Overlooking the Atlantic Seaboard in Camps Bay, Cape Villa is set against the impressive backdrop of the picturesque Twelve Apostles Mountain range and boasts the perfect balance between luxury and comfort. This glamorous home was completely transformed by ARRCC for an international family who enjoys spending time in Cape Town. Being familiar with ARRCC’s design style, the client brief was to execute ARRCC’s signature style in a new and exciting way to create a modern coastal home with an ethnic edge. Keeping the family’s two children in mind, ARRCC strived to create a space that was contemporary and sophisticated, yet playful and fun.

The existing structure was transformed into a large open space accommodating an inflow of natural light using an array of reflective surfaces and large external aluminum screens which layer the exterior of the house. The entrance glass lobby is clad in reflective glass which accentuates the magnificent Twelve Apostles Mountain views, while a garden oasis borders the walkway to the front door. The entrance level comprises a kitchen, dining, and lounge area as well as a designated study and guest washroom. Dominating the living room is a shattered screen, boldly shaped with an organic design, generating movement and flow within the space.

Between forest and meadows lies a varied landscape. High, dry, sandy dunes interspersed with heather, willow bushes and grasslands. An ideal setting if you like the outdoors, like the inhabitants of this villa in Hattem.

The living area of this bungalow with woodland is orientated to the south. So lovely, that sun out on the terrace. The glass wall of the living area towards the spacious patio is designed transparent to minimize the boundary between inside and outside. From the inside of the house this provides a maximum experience of the garden and the rest of the surroundings. Because of the large canopy and floor heating, it is also nice to be on the terrace on autumn days.

From the entrance side the carport of the bungalow appears to be hovering. It is a simple architectural approach with a great visual effect. The house looks sleek and abstract on the outside, but has a warm and cozy interior. The furniture in the living room is all custom designed. The kitchen, storage space, fireplace, piano and audio equipment form an integral part of the wall unit.

The residence was built over a massive 1900 sq yard plot and is all about family time and relationships. This is a functional home where rustic elements meet luxury, spacious interiors, neutral palettes and loads of sunlight and more importantly, a home designed to bring the big joint family together while also giving each member their personal space.

Even as one enters the residence, lush landscaping and a significant water body that takes a pivotal role in the house planning, welcome you inside. The ground floor also houses the informal living and dining areas and the guest bed room. One flight up you arrive at the identical master bedrooms located next to each other that are fully functional, stylish and sleek with a double height ceiling and seamless bathroom. The classy wallpapers, handpicked curious, art and even motorized sunroofs right above the bathtub are its main features.

The flooring is a combination of high luxury marble that’s infused with locally polished limestone and most of the furniture is imported from abroad. From concrete finished walls to a large collection of art and knick-knacks, the house has it all, but nothing comes across as incongruous as it is in coherence with the theme and interiors.
