'Blocks And Spaces",Primarily is my company providing housing solutions for societies and developers. And for any layman the first thing that comes to ones mind is the place we stay known as block or a flat..eg: which block (Flat)number, or when we travel abroad it is more of how many blocks did you walk..in other words a block there means, large area which consists of several buildings surrounded by streets counted as one block. And Spaces means empty area., also location outside the earths atmosphere. And there are many meanings to these words.
But this lock down gave me a deeper insight to this name. Blocks (fear or an opinion)that we have created in our minds for certain people, place, work and for ourselves too. A BLOCK stops us to try new things, as we have already created an opinion for it or about the person or place. For eg: If you have had a bad experience with some restaurant or hotel you have stayed with, it has created a block in your mind to take a second chance with them again. It could have been a one off incident with you whereas others would have had a great stay or enjoyed the food there. Similarly, we tend to create an opinion about a person just with a small interaction with him/her, which in future stops us from connecting with them again for no fault of theirs., even if you know they are good in that field, you will look for options, but not giving him/her another chance.
' Spaces" in this testing time of the pandemic is playing key role in our lives. People are craving for open space, a space for their own privacy, space to balance our mental health. We all are today confined in our small blocks of 2 bhk or 4 bhk houses but we are craving for space for ourself. It's so important for a healthy relationship.
While I self introspected myself, I realised its so important to remove these blocks to grow and stop harming yourself. I had a block if I could ever learn anything new, and when I pushed myself and removed that fear I could learn technology which was my weakness. I realised its so important to give space to others to help them unwind, calm down and relax.
I think as I learnt these basics of Blocks And Spaces, its given a stronger foundation to help re-develop those staying in lesser spaces ( dilapidated societies)and remove those mental blocks created over years ( differences in the families)and give them better well planned BLOCKS AND SPACE for a new beginning.
I Rajiv Mehta , Founder of Blocks and Spaces, sign off wishing everyone here to stay safe stay healthy, both physically and mentally and give everyone space to grow , heal and remove all the blocks you have for your self or people around you. Everyone is fighting their own battles in this pandemic.
