Why Registration of Leave and Licence Agreement is important?
Any agreement for leave and licence has to be in
writing and it is mandatory to register the agreement.
The responsibility of getting such agreement registered
shall be on the licensor .
Any licensor who contravenes these provisions ,is liable to
be punished with imprisonment up to three months
or with fine up to Rs. five thousand or with both.
The section relating to this provision in The Maharashtra
Rent Control Act _ 1999 reads as follows :
Sec.55 ( 1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act
or any other law for the time being in force , any agreement
for leave and licence or letting of any premises entered
into between the landlord and the tenant or the licensee,as
the case may be ,after the commencement this Act shall be in
writing and shall be registered under the Registration Act
1908.

Please get ready with minimum requirements for e-Registration.
Minimum Requirements
1. PC with updated Antivirus.
2. Internet broadband connection of minimum 2 Mbps
3. Web Camera
4. Biometric Reader (Fingerprint reader)
5. Aadhar card of all parties

2. Visit www.igrmaharashtra.gov.in
3. Open e-Registration portal
4. Create your account in portal
5. Enter data required for preparing document & Verify all details
6. Auto calculation of Stamp Duty, Registration Fees and other charges from portal
7. Pay Stamp Duty, Registration Fees online
8. Check the Draft Document
9. Capture photographs & thumb impression of all the parties & their Identifiers
10. Validate your identity using your Aadhar number.
11. Upload the document for Registration
12. SRO will receive document in his log-in
13. SRO to verify identity of registrants with UID & payment details with GRAS
14. SRO will verify document & if found correct will register it using his Electronic Signature
15. Receive registered document, Index -2 ,& Receipt in your log-in
