National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) formed under the aegis of Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation (MHUPA), Govt. of India in 1998 was established as an autonomous self-regulatory apex national body. NAREDCO was formed with a mandate to induce transparency and ethics in real estate business and transform the unorganized Indian Real Estate industry into a mature, professio
nal and globally competitive industry. NAREDCO, as the collective voice of real estate in India, strives to be the leading advocate for developing standards for efficient, effective and ethical real estate business practices, valued by all he stakeholders and viewed crucial for success in India. NAREDCO connects closely with various authorities- Government, Public and Private-in addressing real estate issues. It is worth noting that presently, Shri Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Govt of India is its Chief Patron.,who participates in various interactions with NAREDCO members. Public Institutions like Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO), National Housing Bank (NHB), Delhi Development Authority (ODA), Building Material and Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC) and Hindustan Prefab Ltd., LIC Housing, HDFC are the Governing Council members. policies and budgets at the Central and State Government levels, besides addressing issues related to developers. Policies on Affordable Housing, Fast Tracking Project Approvals, Regulation & Development Bill and Model Rental Control Act are some of NAREDCO’s achievements in the near past. Government gives due weightage and respects suggestions put forth by NAREDCO, which in itself is its strength. As a member of NAREDCO at the National level, you would be recognized amongst the peers of the industry and there will be ample opportunities to voice concerns and issues of the industry, which will help in escalating your stature through exchange of knowledge, nationally and internationally, this will help in shaping the industry in most appropriate manner and provide much needed impetus to the sector. People at large will be benefitted with your knowledge and experience, which would get emulated vice-versa. As NAREDCO works very closely with every stake-holder of the industry, the platform of NAREDCO available to members through Conventions, Seminars, Representations and bi-monthly magazines, is incomparable and carries a lot of dignity which is sanguine to its members.
