🚄 India’s First Indigenous Semi High-Speed Rail Approved!
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by PM Narendra Modi, has greenlit the game-changing Ahmedabad–Dholera Semi High-Speed Rail Corridor. Budgeted at ₹20,667 crore, this double-line project marks a monumental leap for domestic engineering as India's first semi-high-speed corridor built entirely with indigenous technology. Operating at speeds up to 220 km/h, it will slash travel times between Ahmedabad and Dholera to under 48 minutes, transforming the region into a highly connected industrial economic zone.
Scheduled for completion by 2030–31, this vital infrastructure links the upcoming Dholera International Airport and the Lothal National Maritime Heritage Complex. It promises to catalyze mega-investments into the Dholera SIR, seamlessly connecting high-tech manufacturing, electronics, and semiconductor hubs with India’s broader high-speed transit networks.
