When it comes to RERA, even UP plays the trick on buyers!

After much waiting, the UP Govt finally uploaded rules on its website http://www.up-rera.in/ on Wednesday, July 26. However, to the shock of buyers, the Govt failed to upload the revised rules. This led to utter confusion the whole day as both buyers and builders were seen trying to figure out the definition of ongoing projects. The UP Urban Housing Dept in May had announced an amendment to the rules, finalised earlier on Oct 27, 2016, for removing pro-builder clauses. As per the October notification, all those ongoing projects which have applied for OC, or occupancy certificate, or the builder has developed common facilities, have been kept out of the RERA ambit. Now hundreds and thousands of buyers in under-construction projects have been left in the lurch.
