Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation and urged citizens to adopt fuel-saving measures and reduce unnecessary expenses amid rising global tensions and increasing energy prices.
During his speech, PM Modi emphasized the need to protect India’s economy and foreign exchange reserves in the wake of the ongoing global crisis linked to the West Asia conflict. He appealed to people to use public transport, prefer metro services, practice carpooling, and increase the use of electric vehicles.
The Prime Minister also encouraged companies to promote work-from-home culture and virtual meetings to reduce fuel consumption. He further advised citizens to postpone non-essential foreign travel and support domestic tourism instead.
In a strong push for self-reliance, Modi urged people to buy “Made in India” products and reduce dependence on imported goods. He also appealed to farmers to reduce chemical fertilizer usage and adopt natural farming practices wherever possible.
Highlighting the importance of collective responsibility, the Prime Minister said every citizen’s contribution would help India remain economically strong during challenging global conditions.
The speech has sparked widespread discussion across social media and political circles, with many viewing the appeal as a precautionary step to prepare the country for possible economic impacts of rising global oil prices and international instability.
