Every end is just a new beginning.
It was 5 years back that we saw a need to create a vibrant eco-system where small & medium scale enterprises can set up their manufacturing units. To serve this need, we conceived POR Industrial Park near Vadodara with all the modern infrastructure facilities. This was a tripartite collaboration where farmers gave land, Private Equity gave funds and we weaved it all together to build one of the biggest Industrial Park in the region, over 115 acres i.e. 5 mn sq ft.
The project is developed adjoining GIDC Por on NH-8 with complete infrastructure that is necessary for a non-polluting manufacturing unit to operate & thrive. More importantly, it is also a sports hub as we have developed an international level cricket ground for the welfare & well being of the employees working herein and to benefit local rural youths & students.
We are on the verge of completing this project – all the NA plots have been sold to more than 200 different companies that are estimated to give employment to over 20,000 people. We have given financial exit to the Private Equity fund and the market value of the NA plots have doubled in 3 years.
Economical, Environmental and Social good - all packed in one project. All this could be achieved thanks to the support of many stakeholders including the Government of Gujarat. But one person who deserves a special mention is my partner Jignesh Desai whose painstaking effort on ground made this vision come true.
