The first, located in Madhurawada, will span 130 acres and include an Integrated Data Center and Business Park. With an investment of ₹21,844 crore, it’s projected to generate around 35,000 jobs—25,000 of them direct. The second center at Kapulappada, backed by ₹7,210 crore, will create nearly 15,000 jobs. These projects are not only boosting employment but also positioning Vizag as a key player in India’s digital infrastructure ecosystem.
Adding to the momentum is SimplyFi Softech, which is setting up an **AI Center of Research & Excellence (AI CoRE)** at Rushikonda. Slated to open in January 2025, this center will focus on cutting-edge AI applications and research, attracting talent and fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
There’s also buzz around a potential TCS Development Centre, following discussions between the Andhra Pradesh government and Tata Sons. If realized, this would mark a significant milestone in Vizag’s IT journey, bringing one of India’s largest tech giants into the fold.
Despite these exciting developments, Vizag’s IT SEZ still faces challenges—such as limited ready-built spaces, international connectivity gaps, and delays in incentives. However, with renewed government focus and increasing investor confidence, the city is poised for a digital renaissance.
