€53,000 ~ Sardinia ~ Furnished 6 Bedroom View Home in Beautiful Mountain Village (209 m² 6bd/2ba)
Nearest Airports: Olbia, Cagliari, Alghero
Another home for sale in our village and this is such a great one!
This bright, clean, six-bedroom multi-level home is being sold furnished. It's in a wonderful central location in the old town - from where you can walk to everything! - with incredible views over the village and surrounding hills all for €53,000!
This is one of the nicest and most spacious homes I've ever seen for sale here! It's an amazing village with incredibly friendly, welcoming people and it's also stunningly beautiful.
There are shops, outdoor cafes, a homemade pasta shop, bread shops, hairdresser, butcher, bakery, tabacchi, doctor's clinic, pharmacy, library, post office, weaving collective workshop, the municipality office and where the wee local market is held on Thursdays. There are also several small museums and a new "mural walk map."
This quaint part of town is very popular with visitors during the Autunno in Barbagia (October) and Torrone (the day after Easter) festivals, where thousands of people come from all over Sardinia to the village. Otherwise, there are very few tourists apart from campers and motor bikers passing through.
You will need a car to live here and it does get cold in the winter (as in, snow sometimes) and the village becomes pretty quiet but it makes up for it in the spring, summer and fall with lots of celebrations, parties and outdoor socializing.
You can get everything you need in the village - along with the previously mentioned, there's a supermarket and a few hardware and electronics shops plus several smaller shops. In the next village there are three more supermarkets and a large 'everything' store.
All three airports are 2 - 2.5 hours away - Olbia, Cagliari and Alghero with quite beautiful drives to each.
It's also centrally located to explore the coastline and beaches on all four coasts. It's surrounded by some of the most spectacular beaches and lovely seaside towns in the world, especially on the east coast - Cala Luna, Cala Goloritze, Bari Sardo, Cala Gonone, Castelsardo, etc. It's two hours to the nearest beach by car.
If you're not into beaches, there are several quaint and interesting villages in this area as well as caves/grottos, waterfalls, neolithic ruins, archeological museums, etc. and the 'Sardinian Dolomites' are not far. The Parco Nazionale Golfo di Orosei e Gennargentu is also very close.
It's also very rich in history and tradition, which people are very proud of and open to sharing. You'll also be immersed in authentic Sardo life and will learn Italian without distractions because few people speak English and there are almost no other foreigners here (except us.)
There are schools here of all levels and three Catholic churches.
And ... it's a blue zone where many people live to be 100 or older, which is very easy to understand once you experience the fresh air, excellent food, easy going pace if life and the kind, lively community.
Also ... all of Sardinia is a zero-earthquake zone!
Several municipalities with populations under 3,000, which this is, will give new buyers a non-repayable grant of €15,000 towards the purchase or renovation of a house if the new buyer is eligible and opt to register as a resident in the village.
