E' una storia particolare, vista con gli occhi delle due coppie che l'hanno vissuta cui destino ha intrecciato vicende parallele che si sono prima incontrate poi separate.

Yes. In Cannara, yes.

🗓️Every September, this small town in Umbria turns into one of the most authentic food festivals in the area:
📍the Festa della Cipolla di Cannara.

And here, the onion isn’t a side dish.
It’s the star of the show.

The whole town transforms: the streets come alive, the lights turn on, people fill the alleys, and each district has its own food stand, its own recipes and its own atmosphere.

There are 6 food stands to discover:

Al Cortile Antico
El Cipollaro
Il Giardino Fiorito
Il Rifugio del Cacciatore
La Locanda del Curato
La Taverna del Castello

The food stands open every evening from 7:30 PM, and on Sundays also for lunch from 12:30 PM.

The local market opens from 6:00 PM, and on Sundays from 10:30 AM.

🧅You’ll find onions cooked in every possible way: from starters to main courses, and even in desserts.

🎤And after dinner, the festival keeps going with evening shows, live music, concerts and events around the town.

But you don’t go there just to eat.
You go there to experience a whole town coming together.

👉WE CLIMBED UP TO WATCH THE SUNRISE…BUT THEN

🌅We went up to Monte Ginezzo to watch the sunrise, from one of the most beautiful viewpoints above Cortona.

From up there, the view stretches across the valley and Lake Trasimeno, right where history tells of Hannibal’s famous battle.

We thought we would find only silence, fresh morning air, and the sun slowly rising behind the hills.

But instead, together with the light, came the roar of more than 140 riders from the Queen Trophy.

One after another, bend after bend, they made their way up here to have breakfast in front of the sunrise.

And that’s when we realised it wasn’t just a sunrise.

It was one of those mornings where the road, the effort, friendship and wonder all meet in the same place.

😲WHAT REALLY LIES BEHIND A VILLAGE FESTIVAL IN TUSCANY?

😲DISCOVER HiDDEN FLORENCE ❤️

Welcome to Sant’Ambrogio, one of those neighborhoods where you can still experience the authentic, everyday side of Florence.

📍 Sant’Ambrogio Market – Piazza Lorenzo Ghiberti
This historic covered market opened in 1873. Fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat and small local shops: this is where you can experience Florence like a local.

And just across the street, there’s another hidden gem:

📍 Flea Market – Piazza Pietro Annigoni
Antiques, vintage pieces, old books, vinyl records and curious objects. It’s one of those places where you think you’ll stay for five minutes… and end up wandering around for an hour. ❤️

🚗 BY CAR
The easiest option is Sant’Ambrogio Parking, Piazza Annigoni 9. You’ll park right next to the markets and avoid driving into Florence’s restricted traffic zone (ZTL).

🚆 BY TRAIN
From Firenze Santa Maria Novella, continue by public transport. If your train stops at Firenze Campo di Marte, you’re even closer and can easily reach the area on foot.

During these special days, Montefalco opens its traditional taverns, and the whole village comes alive with long tables, Umbrian dishes and, of course, Sagrantino. 🍷

We chose Taverna di Sant’Agostino.

You don’t come here just to eat.
You sit down, order something traditional, open a bottle of w**e and suddenly find yourself immersed in the true atmosphere of Montefalco. ❤️

One of those summer evenings to enjoy without rushing.

But hurry: the taverns are only open until August 19th.

So, if you’re nearby… you’ve only got a few days left to experience them!

🚜 “Do you really do everything by yourself?”

“Yes… and I actually love doing it all by myself!”

Today our friend Max took us to a truly special place:
📍 Cantina Bartoloni, in the heart of Montefalco.

It’s run by one of the few female w**emakers in the area.

We visited the w**ery…
tasted w**e straight from the barrels… and discovered something we didn’t know.

Sagrantino, the iconic w**e of Montefalco, was actually born as a passito w**e, made from grapes left to dry for months before fermentation.

And then came something really special…
a 1994 Riserva Passito.

A bottle holding more than 30 years of history.

But what we’ll really take home with us isn’t just the w**e.

It’s the way we were welcomed: like old friends. ❤️🍷

Did you know there’s a trattoria in Florence with over 120 years of history? ❤️

Founded in 1901 and still run by the same family today, Da Burde is one of those places where you can experience authentic Florentine cuisine.

We went for one of the great classics: the famous Florentine-style tripe. 😍

The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming — Sebastiano took great care of us — and between the setting, the food and the atmosphere, you really feel like you’ve stepped back into the Florence of another time.

🍷 And if you love w**e, their w**e list is simply incredible.

But here’s a little extra tip: before you leave, ask for the Premiate Trattorie Italiane Passport. Every time you visit one of the trattorias in the network, you get a new stamp.
