"Pefect anniversary holiday"

Brilliant, a very memorable holiday. The villa is in an ideal location, peaceful but also a perfect base to get out and about. We stayed for 2 weeks and had a fantastic time. There was a welcome pack waiting for us upon our arrival which was greatly appreciated as we arrived quite late in the day. Dave met us on route and showed us around and was very helpful during our stay. The villa is spacious and comfortable. The grounds are lovely with the various fruit trees and the pergola at the front is great with the grape vines growing over it. Lovely to sit outside and enjoy a bite to eat and a glass of the local wine. We made trips to Gallipoli, Otranto, Lecce and Alberobello each of which had thier own attractions. We particularly enjoyed Lecce and Alberobello. Both must sees. The old town of Lecce is beautiful and Alberobello is amazing. The trulli houses are stunning and unique. We also tried out a couple of the local restaurants. Vini di Vini in Cutrofiano was a real favourite. The food is delicious and the family are very friendly and welcoming. We had dinner there on our last night. It was a beautiful evening sitting up on the roof watching the sunset, very romantic. Cutrofiano is just a few minutes away by car. It's a charming, quiet, old town. Great to wander around on a sunny day and stop for a coffee or a beer. The local supermarket is very handy for essentials. The local people although speak very little English, if at all, are very open and friendly and enjoy teaching tourists Italian. This was our first trip to Puglia. It truly is a beautiful part of Italy. A perfect location to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary. We highly recommend Villa Casa Blanca. It is ideal for a quiet, relaxing holiday. We will definitely visit again and hope to return to the villa as there is still so much of the area to see. Many thanks to Rory for making everything so easy from booking to returning our deposit so promptly and also for the info pack, it was extremely useful. Thanks again to Dave for all his help.

Latest review from owners direct, stayed in May (http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/italy/IT2296.htm?src= )

"We had an amazing time at the villa. We stayed for 7 nights and from the minute we arrived, it felt like everything had been taken care of. Dave, an affable Englishman, was there to meet us (apparently he lives very close to the property). Apart from the normal logistical items, he also gave us tips on what was going on in the area and the details of a lady who teaches an excellent authentic Italian cooking class. That is definitely recommended, great value and there is plenty of locally produced wine supplied throughout the day. The house was very clean, with very fresh towels and bedding provided. The welcome pack was a godsend as we arrived quite late and the wine was consumed in record time. Our youngest was provided with a cot and high chair. Weatherwise, it rained on only one of the days, which was slightly depressing, but there were some DVDs and games which helped us to pass the time. That was the only day that we needed the wood burner, but it made the place feel cosy. We did not use all of the grounds, but we particularly liked the fact that we could zone off the outside areas like the rear citrus garden (locks from both sides, very handy for young kids) and the front patio area. We even made some fresh orange juice from the trees at the back. No stairs meant that we could completely open all the doors and let our youngest explore in safety. Also, the above-ground pool (in the side garden) was an advantage, as we placed the ladder completely inside the pool for additional safety, on the off-chance that we forgot to lock the gate. The surrounding area is covered in olive groves. We went to the beach north of Gallipoli on two occasions and we had it to ourselves! It only took us 15 minutes to get there, and I think we drove past a water park, which looked closed. We didn't use the bikes but they would be ideal for couples or families with older kids who want to cycle into town. From driving it, it seemed really flat past lots of olive groves. Overall, we would recommend villa casablanca mainly for couples or families who like having lots of outside space. It is one or two miles outside the town, so you definitely need a car to get around, therefore we wouldn't recommend it for those that need a restaurant on the doorstep. TIP: DEFINITELY go to Lecce for a day trip, it is a beautiful city and only 30 mins from the villa. Stay for the evening if you want to see it come alive"
