Latest review from owners direct, stayed in May (http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/italy/IT2296.htm?src= )
"We had an amazing time at the villa. We stayed for 7 nights and from the minute we arrived, it felt like everything had been taken care of. Dave, an affable Englishman, was there to meet us (apparently he lives very close to the property). Apart from the normal logistical items, he also gave us tips on what was going on in the area and the details of a lady who teaches an excellent authentic Italian cooking class. That is definitely recommended, great value and there is plenty of locally produced wine supplied throughout the day. The house was very clean, with very fresh towels and bedding provided. The welcome pack was a godsend as we arrived quite late and the wine was consumed in record time. Our youngest was provided with a cot and high chair. Weatherwise, it rained on only one of the days, which was slightly depressing, but there were some DVDs and games which helped us to pass the time. That was the only day that we needed the wood burner, but it made the place feel cosy. We did not use all of the grounds, but we particularly liked the fact that we could zone off the outside areas like the rear citrus garden (locks from both sides, very handy for young kids) and the front patio area. We even made some fresh orange juice from the trees at the back. No stairs meant that we could completely open all the doors and let our youngest explore in safety. Also, the above-ground pool (in the side garden) was an advantage, as we placed the ladder completely inside the pool for additional safety, on the off-chance that we forgot to lock the gate. The surrounding area is covered in olive groves. We went to the beach north of Gallipoli on two occasions and we had it to ourselves! It only took us 15 minutes to get there, and I think we drove past a water park, which looked closed. We didn't use the bikes but they would be ideal for couples or families with older kids who want to cycle into town. From driving it, it seemed really flat past lots of olive groves. Overall, we would recommend villa casablanca mainly for couples or families who like having lots of outside space. It is one or two miles outside the town, so you definitely need a car to get around, therefore we wouldn't recommend it for those that need a restaurant on the doorstep. TIP: DEFINITELY go to Lecce for a day trip, it is a beautiful city and only 30 mins from the villa. Stay for the evening if you want to see it come alive"
