A sunny slope between the Isarco Valley and Val Gardena at 750 m above sea level. Farms, terraces and the small Katharina Church shape this village, where w**e has been cultivated for centuries 🍇. Around 300 people live here today – in a scattered settlement that wraps around the sunlit hillside. Above lie orchards, below runs the Val Gardena road, and in between begins history: Walther von der Vogelweide is said to have been born here. Now the Törggelen season begins – and in Novale the taverns welcome guests with autumn aromas, new w**e and cozy evenings 🍂🍷. A hamlet with history, wide horizons and paths leading straight into the Dolomites 🌄

High above the farms rises the red onion shaped tower of the parish church ⛪✨, the proud landmark of the village. All around lie meadows, old paths and views leading up to Resciesa, where alpine pastures and forest are protected within the Puez Odle Nature Park. Further down, along the Val Gardena road, stretches S. Pietro in valley – quiet and sunlit ☀️ A hamlet with history, wide horizons and trails that lead straight into the Dolomites 🏔️

Tanurza lies east of Laion, a small hamlet resting quietly on the slopes yet immediately striking: for its calm and its wide views. The landscape opens toward the Sciliar and the Sasolungo, clear and expansive. The old St. Bartholomew chapel shapes the place – simple, full of history and closely woven into its surroundings. A spot where time moves more gently and the landscape sets the tone ✨🌄

Freins zählt nur rund 45 Einwohner und liegt ruhig am Hang des Eisacktals – mit einem einzigartigen Blick auf Kloster Säben und das Künstlerstädtchen Klausen. Das kleine Kirchlein zum Hl. Johannes dem Täufer, dessen Wurzeln bis 1239 reichen, prägt den Weiler ebenso wie seine Lage abseits des Verkehrs.
Freins ist ein stiller Ausgangspunkt für Kultur, Natur und Wanderungen: von Lajen über Albions bis hierher führt eine gemütliche Runde durch Wiesen und Wälder. Wer Ruhe sucht und dennoch schnell in Klausen, im Villnösstal oder Richtung Gröden möchte, findet in Freins genau diesen Zwischenraum. ✨🌾
