Of course, we know them too.
But sometimes the most beautiful route is the one where you don’t come across a single soul for half an hour.

A forest path.
An alpine pasture.
A bench with a view.
A small village.

We’re happy to show our guests these sides of South Tyrol as well.

For us, being sustainable doesn’t mean being perfect.
It means taking a more conscious look at things.
What do we really need?
What can we buy locally?
What can we avoid?
What can we preserve?
We live here.
That’s why what happens to our home matters to us.
Not perfect. But with conviction.

You don’t have to tick things off a list.

You don’t have to ‘tick off’ any sights.

You don’t have to conquer any peaks.

You’re allowed to just do nothing for a change.

That’s exactly why we love our Hofer.

We reckon a day’s holiday should start slowly.
No alarm clock. No appointments. No ‘We’ve got to get going’.
First things first: coffee.
Breakfast.
Open the windows...
Look at the mountains...
And then we’ll see!
Perhaps go for a walk...
Perhaps just stay where we are.
Perhaps go back to bed.
After all, a holiday should be a holiday.

Our little gem?
We’re situated quite far back in the valley.
And that’s exactly what we love.
It’s peaceful here.
And yet so much is close by: nature, of course, the walking trails, the meadows and woods and the bus – and in winter the slopes, you don't need the skibus.
You’re a bit off the beaten track.
But not cut off from the world.
Actually, it’s pretty much perfect.

Perhaps we’re not the right fit for everyone.
And that’s just fine.
We like it small, personal and uncomplicated.
We love our home, our village and the surrounding mountains.
We don’t need any frills to make a holiday feel good.
A good breakfast.
Fresh air.
A lovely walk.
Peace and quiet.
And time for whatever takes your fancy.
That’s the Hofer in Vals.

Early bird - blue sky - fresh air!
A hike after a good breakfast, when the valley is still quiet.
