Can you believe that only about half of new home buyers get a home inspection? New homes are great and often the repair list is short. But sometimes I am surprised by the finds. New home finds have included:
a laundry room with NO dryer vent,
AC's that don't work,
leaky roofs, (one with a large hole through the roof!)
plumbing drains clogged with construction debris,
and much, much more.

Don't think you need to add the sewer camera inspection to your new home inspection? Think again. Rocks and mud in the sewer line. Whoops!!! This home buyer was glad they added the service. Ellis County Home Inspections can get it done.

I’m feeling a bit apprehensive as I head out the door to inspect a 120 year old home this morning. The last thing my client said to me was, “Be sure to bring your black light so you can see the blood curdling down the walls.” 😱

Home Buyer: Why should I get my new home inspected? Everything is new, what could be wrong?

Answer: It is true that new homes have less issues than older ones, but even new homes have issues. Some small and some not so small. The photo below is at a new build. It is a furnace flue pipe with incorrect clearance to the roof decking. See where the pipe is touching the plywood? Thats not good. Yes, the furnace works, but is it safe? No. Hot flue pipes such as this require at least 1 inch clearance to combustible materials. I suggest you get the inspection to be safe.
