Some places you leave. Others never leave you. ❤️

This morning, Daniela from Canada sent me this photograph.

She stayed with us for two weeks at the beginning of September, and today she wrote:

“I have been looking at my pictures every day, holding on to the beautiful memories of your home. There are no words to describe how one’s soul feels after staying at Le Torri. Just know it was one of my happiest places on earth.”

I read those words more than once.

Because perhaps this is the greatest gift our guests can give us.

Not simply remembering a beautiful villa, a Tuscan sunset or a holiday…

but taking home a feeling.

Daniela, thank you for this photograph, for your beautiful words and for reminding us that sometimes a place enters our lives quietly… and somehow remains there.

My dear Good Giant,

the other day I watched a child running through your garden.

For a moment…

I saw myself.

The little boy who climbed over your stones.

Who played among the dust and wooden beams.

Who had no idea what his parents were trying to save.

Back then, you were the old one.

And I was the child.

I thought I was watching you change.

Your wounds disappeared.

Your windows opened.

Your garden came back to life.

You became younger…

while I grew up beside you.

But only now do I understand.

You were watching me too.

You saw the little boy become a man.

You saw me fall in love.

You saw me become a father.

You saw my parents’ hands grow older…

and mine slowly take their place.

You have known every version of me.

The child I was.

The man I became.

And the father I am today.

Sometimes I wonder…

if your old walls could speak,

which Gabry would they remember?

And I think I know the answer.

All of them.

Because perhaps that is what a home really does.

It doesn’t remember us as we are today.

It remembers everyone we have ever been.

So one day, when my hair is white
and my steps through your garden are slower…

please, my dear Good Giant…

when you look at me,

remember the little boy too.

The one who ran between your stones…

while you quietly watched him become a man.

After the storm, the light always finds its way back. ❤️

After a day of rain, Tuscany gives us one of its unforgettable sunsets.

Our lady seems to hold the sun gently in her hands, reminding us that every storm passes and every ending can carry a new beginning.

New light. New beauty. New memories waiting to be lived.

Perhaps we need the rain sometimes…
to understand how beautiful it is when the light returns. ❤️

My dear Good Giant,

over the years, I have seen something beautiful happen inside you.

Children arrived.

They ran through your garden.

Jumped into your pool.

Ate too much pizza.

Laughed loudly beneath your windows.

Sometimes…

they drove me crazy. 😊

Then Saturday came.

They left.

And I thought their story with you was over.

But you knew better.

Years passed.

And one day…

a car came up the hill.

Someone stepped out.

The face had changed.

The little hands were now adult hands.

But somehow…

I recognized the eyes.

They had come back.

The child who once ran through your garden was standing in front of me as an adult.

And sometimes, beside them…

there was another little hand.

Their own child.

That’s when I understood something.

You had remembered them.

You had kept their childhood safe while they were busy growing up.

Their laughter was still somewhere in your garden.

Their footsteps were still hidden on your old stairs.

Their summers were still inside your walls.

And now…

you were watching their children run across the same grass.

Perhaps that is one of the most beautiful privileges of growing old, my dear Good Giant.

You don’t simply watch people leave.

You live long enough to watch them come back.

And sometimes…

they bring the future with them.

Every week new people enter our home, and Romeo seems to understand immediately that there are new friends to meet.

And suddenly, it’s Friday again… ❤️

One more week is coming to an end at Villa Le Torri.

This afternoon, by the pool, there is no rush. Just a glass of w**e, laughter, and stories about the moments shared during these days together.

People who arrived as strangers now sit around the same table remembering their week in Tuscany.

And perhaps this is the part of our work that touches us most.

Because every week you arrive from different countries, with different stories… and somehow, little by little, you become part of ours.

Thank you for the affection, the smiles and the warmth you have given our family this week.

Tomorrow we will say goodbye.

But tonight… we simply enjoy being together a little longer. ❤️

Do you know what this is? 🇮🇹🌿

It may look like a giant garlic… but this is Aglione della Valdichiana, one of Tuscany’s most traditional ingredients.

Its bulbs can become surprisingly large, but its real secret is its flavour: much more delicate, sweet and gentle than ordinary garlic.

In Tuscany, it is the soul of one of our traditional dishes: Pici all’Aglione.

And today, during our Cooking Class at Villa Le Torri, our guests will discover that Italian cuisine is not only about learning a recipe.

It is about understanding the ingredients, where they come from, and the traditions they carry with them.

Because behind even the simplest ingredient, there can be centuries of Tuscany. ❤️

And after seeing the size of this Aglione… I think our guests will remember this lesson! 😄🇮🇹
