Set among the sun-drenched hills of the Val di Noto, Villa Modda emerges as a dialogue between rural memory and contemporary architecture.

The project stems from the restoration of an old agricultural drying structure, now reimagined as the heart of a pedestrian axis that crosses the villa—separating the open, social spaces overlooking the pool from the more intimate, private areas.

A brown cocciopesto extension wraps around the original stone building, creating a material harmony that evokes the earth, carob trees, and Mediterranean light. At the core, a bold yellow glazed terracotta volume organizes the interior layout, from kitchen to fireplace to the sunken lounge.

A home designed to breathe with the landscape: iron sunshades, natural ventilation, and an emerald green mosaic pool that blends seamlessly into the hillside.

Villa Modda is part of a broader project to regenerate rural ruins in harmony with the landscape and bioclimatic principles. A respectful architectural gesture that restores and reimagines the countryside.
