Notaries play a key role in every property transaction here — they're not just witnesses, but legal authorities who ensure the entire process follows Italian law.

They handle:

Reviewing contracts and legal documents

Collecting and paying property taxes on your behalf

Registering the deed and confirming the legitimacy of the sale

Importantly, they are neutral — they don't work for the buyer or the seller, but act as an independent legal official to make sure the transaction is clear, compliant, and properly recorded.
