I riti della Settimana Santa a Sorrento sono tradizioni che si tramandano da secoli (dal 1300/1500) e culminano nelle suggestive processioni degli incappucciati tra Giovedì e Venerdì Santo.
In un atmosfera solenne e drammatica le confraternite sfilano incappucciate in Processione Bianca (notte del Giovedì) e Processione Nera (sera del Venerdì) evocando i momenti principali della Passione di Cristo ed accompagnandolo con il suggestivo canto del “Miserere”.

The Holy Week rites in Sorrento are traditions that have been handed down for centuries (from 1300 to 1500) and culminate in the evocative hooded processions between Good Thursday and Good Friday. In a solemn and dramatic atmosphere, the hooded brotherhoods parade in the White Procession (Thursday night) and the Black Procession (Friday evening), evoking the key moments of Christ’s Passion and accompanying them with the evocative singing of the “Miserere.”
