On hot summer days like today, sitting in the shade beneath our beautiful Certis Australis tree is a real treat. A cool breeze from the valley makes it even more pleasant. A glass of chilled w**e and a view of the mountains and Lake Garda. That is all you need.

They are getting closer and closer ❤️

Our family has grown with the arrival of two adorable furry friends from the animal shelter. Milo, the sweet two-year-old tomcat who stole our hearts straight away, has been with us since 10 July. And Coco, the incredibly cheeky and sweet little kitten, is now nine weeks old and has been with us since 15 July. All four of us had to get used to each other. After two weeks, we have really bonded and we’re already very excited to see how they will develop here in our olive grove. I hope they will help us keep the mice out of the vegetable garden.

Today we fancied some delicious ice cream, so we cycled from Oldesio to Vesio. 32 km and 661 metres of altitude gain. It was well worth it ❤️

A few weeks ago, we expanded our Ca’ Scaì Agrifugium with a few small raised beds as an experiment. I am amazed at how well the vegetables are growing and how much fun it is. If things continue to go this well, we will be expanding the mixed-cropping project in the raised beds this winter.

With the arrival of spring, our olive trees emerge from their winter dormancy and begin one of the most fascinating and important phases of their cycle: the flowering season. For us, this moment is of great significance and simply magical. The first tiny white blossoms peek out from among the leaves, marking the start of a new season full of hope and hard work.
