I can’t decide where to spend this week’s heatwave…

Actually, I can.

Sandringham House, golden beaches, crystal clear water and long sunny evenings are all less than an hour from most UK airports.

Jersey wins every time.

Friday night can only mean one thing… seafood night.

One of my favourite things about living in Jersey is having access to some of the freshest seafood you’ll ever taste. A quick trip to the fish market and dinner is sorted with local crab, lobster, prawns and whatever has been landed that day.

The best part? Guests staying at Sandringham House are just a short walk from the fish market, making it easy to pick up fresh seafood and enjoy a relaxed dinner at home.

For me, there is no better way to end the week or finish a Jersey holiday than with fresh seafood, a glass of wine and good company.

I think our French guests may have turned Sandringham House into a little French restaurant.

One of my favourite things about hosting is seeing guests make themselves completely at home, and the kitchen filled with incredible food, conversation and the sort of memories that holidays are all about.

With a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of space to gather around the table, Sandringham House was designed for moments exactly like this.

Because sometimes the best table in Jersey isn’t in a restaurant at all ❤️

The first impression of a hotel or Airbnb isn’t what you see. It’s what you smell.

That’s why we don’t just choose any fragrance. We use Jo Malone fragrances from our favourite Jersey store, Voisins, and every scent is carefully selected to create the warm welcome our guests so often comment on the moment they walk through the door.

Our team don’t just clean and prepare Sandringham House. They help choose the fragrances too. In this reel, Elsa took on the important role of official fragrance tester, while Luz appeared to be delivering Jo Malone diffusers as if they were cocktails!

It’s all part of the care, attention to detail and fun that goes into creating a special stay for our guests.

Luxury isn’t just what you see. It’s what you smell too.

Standing on Sword Beach, it is impossible not to think about the thousands of young men who came ashore here on D Day.

Later, walking through the cemetery in Caen, I found myself looking at the ages on the headstones. So many were just 18, 19, 20 years old. Sons, brothers, friends. Young men with their whole lives ahead of them.

As a parent, I cannot help but wonder what it must have felt like to watch your child leave for war, not knowing if they would ever return.

The freedom we enjoy today came at a price that is almost impossible to comprehend.

Today, we remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the lives they gave so that future generations could live in peace.

Thank you will never be enough, but we must never forget.

Lest we forget.

Who needs tiles anyway?

We have used Tadelakt in two of the bathrooms at Sandringham House and love the seamless, luxurious finish it creates. Soft, natural and completely waterproof, it transforms an ordinary bathroom into something truly special.

The plan is to complete the remaining bathrooms during our next maintenance closure later this year.
