We had a welcome party with our residents in our DK house Shinkoiwa ! We are happy to have you all here. We enjoy some sushi roll and many other delicious dishes. April is new start in Japan, may everyone’s year will be filled with many smiles and happiness !

We held a Welcome BBQ Party at DK House Nerima 🍔
Making burgers was a big hit, and while managing the grill was a bit tricky, it brought lots of smiles and laughter.
Even the slightly overcooked ones became part of the fun and made it a great time together ✨

DKハウス練馬でウェルカムBBQパーティーを開催しました🍔
ハンバーガー作りが大盛り上がりで、火加減に苦戦しながらも笑顔あふれる時間となりました。

Last Saturday, the cherry blossoms had just started to bloom, with only a few flowers open 🌸
They are expected to reach full bloom this weekend, so if you’re in Japan, don’t miss the chance to enjoy them!
This week in Tokyo, temperatures are around 15–18°C during the day and 5–8°C at night, showing clear signs of spring.

A DK staff member captured this beautifully lit Sapporo TV Tower during a recent trip to Sapporo ✨
As the snow begins to melt, signs of spring are slowly appearing in Hokkaido.
Cherry blossoms are expected to start blooming in Tokyo from tomorrow, so keep an eye out for the first signs of spring 🌸

We held a Mochi-Pounding Party at DK House Shin-Koiwa 🎉
Residents worked together to pound steamed glutinous rice until it became soft and stretchy — a traditional Japanese New Year activity.
We enjoyed the freshly made mochi with matcha, sweet red bean paste, and in ozoni soup.
We’ll be sharing a reel of the mochi-making process next week, so stay tuned!

蒸したもち米をつぶすところからお餅を作りました！
できあがったお餅は、抹茶や餡子、お雑煮にしてみんなで美味しくいただきました。

We celebrated Setsubun at DK House Nerima 👹
With the chant “Oni wa soto, fuku wa uchi!”, everyone enjoyed this traditional Japanese event together.
It was a lively moment filled with wishes for good health and happiness for the year ahead ✨

正月飾りは、家や建物に年神様をお迎えするための伝統的な飾りです。
玄関や共用スペースに飾ることで、新しい一年の幸せや安全を願う意味があります。
使われている松やしめ縄には、長寿や厄除けといった意味が込められています🎍
