NIMS DAI AND HIS TEAM MISSING AFTER AVALANCHE IN PAKISTAN

July 31, 2026 | Broad Peak (8,047m), Pakistan

Renowned Nepali mountaineer Nirmal “Nims Dai” Purja and nine other international climbers have been reported missing after a powerful avalanche struck Broad Peak in Pakistan’s Karakoram mountain range.

According to Pakistani mountaineering authorities, communication with the expedition team was lost shortly after the avalanche. Search and rescue operations are currently underway despite severe weather, high altitude, and difficult terrain.

Rescue helicopters and ground teams have been deployed, while officials continue searching for the missing climbers. As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the fate of Nims Dai or his team

Akio Yoshida, president of AEON Malls, stood before the nation this morning and bowed.
Hours earlier, an explosion had torn through his company's Kumamoto mall — three workers dead, one critical, three still missing.
He didn't send a spokesperson. He didn't release a statement through lawyers.
He faced the cameras himself, laid out every number, and apologized.
3,000 customers were inside when the earthquake hit. All of them got out.
The workers who died were the ones still helping close down the building when the suspected gas explosion hit.
Yoshida also confirmed the company is investigating whether its own emergency gas shut-off systems failed.
