When buying property in Japan, it’s important to budget beyond the purchase price. Depending on the home, you may also need to account for renovations, closing costs, taxes, insurance, utilities, and furnishing.

The better question isn’t, “What’s the cheapest house I can buy?” It’s, “What’s my total budget?”

Ich habe mir ein Budget von 30.000 € gesetzt und in Hōfu, Präfektur Yamaguchi, nach dem besten Küstenhaus gesucht.

Dieses traditionelle 7DK-Haus aus dem Jahr 1937 steht auf über 700 m² Grundstück (Volleigentum) und verfügt zusätzlich über mehrere Nebengebäude, darunter eine Scheune und einen Lagerraum. Der nächste Bahnhof ist nur 10 Gehminuten entfernt.

Natürlich ist ein fast 90 Jahre altes Haus kein schlüsselfertiges Objekt. Aber mit der richtigen Renovierung könnte daraus ein außergewöhnliches Ferienhaus mit Meerblick werden.
