The climate crisis will be solved in cities, or it won’t be solved at all.

This World Environment Day, Tatu City brought that idea to the table. We convened businesses, schools, and sustainability partners for an honest conversation on Climate Crisis Solutions, and on the practical role fast-growing African cities can play in building real climate resilience.

Linda Nyaseda, COO Kenya at Rendeavour and Head of City Management & Development Control at Tatu City, shared how intentional planning and green infrastructure shape urban environments that can adapt and endure. Albert Omosa, Head of ESG & Quality Assurance at Cold Solutions, spotlighted a quieter driver of global emissions, food loss and waste, and why reducing it is one of the highest-impact moves we can make.

Then we turned the conversation into something rooted: together with our partners, we planted more than 50 indigenous trees along the riparian areas within Tatu City.

At Tatu City, sustainability isn’t a once-a-year gesture, it’s built into how we plan, develop, and grow. Through protected green spaces, responsible development, and strong partnerships, we’re proving that economic progress and environmental responsibility can rise together.

What role can cities play in addressing the climate crisis?

This World Environment Day, Tatu City brought together businesses, schools, and sustainability partners for a panel discussion on the theme, Climate Crisis Solutions, exploring practical approaches to climate action, urban sustainability, and ESG in practice.

The discussion featured insights from Linda Nyaseda, COO Kenya, Rendeavour and Head of City Management and Development Control at Tatu City, Albert Omosa, Head of ESG and Quality Assurance at Cold Solutions, and moderator Christine Kathurima Executive Principal Nova Pioneer Tatu Primary & International School, who led a conversation on the opportunities and responsibilities facing businesses, communities, and cities in building a more sustainable future.

The event concluded with a collaborative tree-planting exercise, where partners and stakeholders planted more than 50 indigenous trees, reinforcing our shared commitment to environmental stewardship and long-term biodiversity conservation.

As Kenya's first operational special economic zone and recent recipient of the ESG Award for Excellence in Sustainable Urban Development and Green Infrastructure, Tatu City remains committed to creating a city where economic growth and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.

Great rugby, great sportsmanship, and an even greater sense of community.

This past weekend, Pembroke House hosted the Coulson Rendeavour Rugby Cup, bringing together young talent, passionate supporters, and the shared spirit that makes rugby such a powerful force for development.
