Capt. Abdulla Mohamed Al - Khanji , The Chief Executive Officer and his delegation from Mwani Qatar Which Manages The Ports Of Hamad, Doha And Ruwais In Qatar, paid a courtesy visit to the Lamu Port yesterday and was received by the KPA & LAPSSET team led by Eng. Vincent Sidai and his Lapsset counterpart Mr. Stephen Ikua. The team paid a courtesy visit to monitor the mega structure progress and to further discuss investment opportunities & pledge a patnership interest in using the newly built .

Earlier this Month a delegation from KPA & LAPSSET toured Dubai & Qatar to market the port and learn from the World's leading efficient Ports. The meeting among other important issues discussed area of mutual cooperation and investment in the Newly developed where both parties Pledged potential partnership & further development.

The first three berths of 400m each with a container yard annual capacity of 1.2M TEU's at Lamu Port is now complete and awaits the commissioning later this year by the President. The facility has handled 11 vessels mainly of transshipment Cargo since it's operationalization last year.

The Newly Appointed Kenya Ports Authority GM Lamu Port Eng. Vincent Sidai ( In Blue Cap) During His Familiarization Tour And Take Over Meeting At Yesterday. Eng. Sidai Was Received By The Head Of Lamu Port Operations Mr. Peter Masinde , Head Of Lamu Port Project Eng. Dan Amadi And LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority Regional Manager Mr. Salim Bunu.

Eng. Sidai Later Paid A Courstesy Call To The Lamu County Commissioner Mr. Irungu Macharia Where He Pledged His Support And Cooperation Towards The Full Operationilzation And Realization Of The Anchor Project. On His Part , Mr. Macharia Welcomed Eng. Sidai Adding That His Deployment Was Timely And That The Government Would Significantly Rely On His Management And Engagement With Key Stakeholders To Actualize The Full Operations.

Is The Country’s Second Commercial Port And Had Its First Berth Operationlized Last Year While The Other Two Berths, Yard And Port Building Now Complete And Ready For Commissioning.
